Formosa Ti Kuan Ying – 50 grams
In Taiwan, everyone knows of Ti-Kuan-Yin. Transplanted from mainland China, it has a strong flavor and aroma, contrasting with other Oolongs which generally have a light flavor and fragrance. The common fermentation for oolong tea is 30%, but that of Formosa Ti-Kuan-Yin is 40%. Traditional methods are used to process this Ti-Kuan-Yin. In order to increase it’s fermentation, leaves are not processed until late in the night or the next day. The outer appearance of the leaves is a wavy shape. This tea has a fragrance that is similar to that of an orchid or cassia. It tastes mildly astringent and soothes the throat. Try this one chilled for a treat!
